Along the southern breakwall of Port Macquarie's Hastings River there is a series of painted rocks that's sure to draw your eye whether you live in the area or are just passing through. They began as an art competition in 1995 but are now a sort of outdoor gallery that anyone can add their own touch to.
Typically, the colourful rocks along the wall display pictures, tributes to loved ones who have passed away, commemorations of anniversaries or holidays, and all kinds of works. It's open to everything, so you can just let your inspiration lead you. If you've seen the V-Wall at Nambucca Heads you'll know what it's like, though this one is on a smaller scale (and there's more chance you'll find a blank rock to paint).
A walk along the breakwall is the easiest way to see the whole attraction. The painted section begins at Port Macquarie's Town Green, extends along the river, around the point, and a little way along the back of Town Beach.

Thanks again, Arnold. I did contact the administrator. Not really sure why... perhaps more art than Graffiti, but in this town, this is classed as Beach Graffiti.
